A PLC (10) equipped with: a communication unit (101) connected to another PLC via a general-purpose network; a setting content determination unit (106) that determines whether first network settings information for this PLC (10) and second network settings information transmitted from the other PLC are the same; a system configuration determination unit (107) that compares first system configuration information for this PLC (10) and second system configuration information for the other PLC when the first network settings information and the second network settings information are the same, and determines whether a configuration match required for constructing a redundant system with the other PLC exists; and a control system/standby system setting unit (108) that, when there is a configuration match, determines whether this PLC (10) is a control system or a standby system. When it is determined that this PLC is a control system, the control system/standby system setting unit does not change the first network settings information, and when it is determined that this PLC is a standby system, the control system/standby system setting unit changes the first network settings information. |
