A high friction surface coating comprising a resin and an aggregate, said aggregate comprising a blend of calcined bauxite and particles of sandstone and/or tuff. The aggregate preferably comprises rock particles from the UK of Palaeozoic age. Particles are preferably between 1-3mm in size. The coating preferably has a skid resistance value (S.R.V.) of at least 70. Also claimed are methods of applying the coating to a road surface. |
