<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance discrimination accuracy of pass and fail of a plurality of nozzles in a configuration having means detecting residual vibration and being shared by the plurality of nozzles.SOLUTION: A liquid discharge device includes: a piezoelectric element 40; a cavity having an internal volume increased and decreased due to displacement of the piezoelectric element 40 while being filled with liquid; a nozzle communicating with the cavity and being capable of discharging the liquid as droplets by an increase/decrease of the internal volume of the cavity; and a transistor 240 being a conductive or non-conductive state between a drain terminal and a source terminal and having the drain terminal connected to one terminal of the piezoelectric element 40. During an inspection period of the piezoelectric element 40, the liquid discharge device brings the transistor 240 corresponding to the piezoelectric element 40 into the conductive state and the other transistors into non-conductive states and determines pass/fail of the nozzle on the basis of a voltage corresponding to a difference between a potential of the source terminal of the transistor 240 and a potential (voltage V) of the other terminal of the piezoelectric element 40.</p> |
