PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which operates in temperature-increase control mode, configured to reduce the time required for continuous printing.SOLUTION: A printer 200 which prints an image on a sheet with toner, on the basis of print data received from a host computer 109 includes: a temperature sensor 108 for detecting an internal temperature; an engine control section 101; and a control circuit 103 which suspends printing operation when the internal temperature reaches a transition temperature T0 for entering temperature-increase control mode, and restarts the printing operation when the internal temperature decreases below a normal restart threshold T1 lower than the transition temperature T0. The control circuit 103 calculates the number of sheets left for printing when the printing operation is suspended due to the internal temperature having reached the transition temperature T0, and changes the normal restart threshold T1 to an appropriate restart threshold T2 higher than that, according to the number of sheets left, thereby reducing printing time. |
