Disclosed are a method for supporting an X2 handover connection between indoor and outdoor femto base stations and a macro base station in a femto gateway; and a femto gateway therfor. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the femto gateway includes: a communication unit which transmits and receives messages for an interconnection between the femto base station and the macro base station to and from the femto base station and the macro base station; an X2 interconnection processing unit which checks the type of the femto base station by using the femto base station information and allocates a virtual IP address which will be used instead of an actual IP address of the macro base station according to the checked type; and a control unit which requests the allocation of the virtual IP address to the X2 interconnection processing unit by extracting the femto base station information from the messages received from the femto base station through the communication unit and which receives the allocated virtual IP address from the X2 interconnection processing unit and transmits the virtual IP address to the femto base station through the communication unit.
