There is provided in a preferred embodiment a composition for use increasing the amount of a synaptic membrane of a neural or brain cell in a subject, or use of the composition for the manufacture of a medicament for increasing the amount of the synaptic membrane. The composition preferably includes (a) an omega-3 fatty acid, an omega-6 fatty acid, or a combination thereof; (b) uridine, an acyl derivative thereof, a uridine phosphate or a CDP-choline; and (c) a choline salt. The composition preferably includes a dosage form for administration of (b) to provide 10 mg to 500 mg of uridine per day, and for administration of (c) between 100 mg to 10 g per day. |
