The present invention relates to a system and a method for dynamically updating event constitution rules for treating a complex event. The system comprises: an analyzing unit for changing an overlapped factor into a novel virtual rule node by analyzing event constitution rules, and generating event rules by combining the same with a non-overlapping factor; and an updating unit for sequentially comparing the novel virtual rule node with a pre-stored set of a virtual rule node, and dividing and reconstituting the novel virtual rule node or the set of virtual rule node according to a compared result.
