The first beam splitter is configured to superimpose the first and second light beams to form a third light beam, the third light beam impinging on a first window of a sample cell. The sample cell defines an interior volume and is configured to transfer the third light beam from the first window to a second window along a light path within the interior volume. The light path comprises a plurality of segments. The third light beam undergoes at least one reflection at an end of each segment, wherein the light path passes through a gas sample disposed within the interior volume.
