PURPOSE:To measure line width with high accuracy even when only a low- contrast analog video signal is obtained by dividing the analog video signal into sections finder than the resolution of a camera and generating a digital brightness signal by quantization. CONSTITUTION:The analog video signal from a CCD camera is inputted to an image fetch circuit 12 and a video signal processing circuit 15. The circuit 12 divides the analog video signals into sections finder than the resolution of the camera every time a horizontal scan is made and quantizes the sections with many-valued gradations of >=2 bits to generate the digital brightness signal, which is stored in a memory. A graphic controller 13 generates a graphic signal for displaying the contents of a window showing characters, symbols, and a processing range and the memory in the circuit 12. A horizontal synchronizing signal HD and a vertical synchronizing signal VD are supplied from the controller 13 to the CCD camera and circuits 12 and 15. The circuit 15 emphasizes the edge of the analog video signal from the CCD camera, adds the graphic signal, and outputs the resulting signal on a TV monitor. |
