PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that suppresses a reduction in the surface potential of an image carrier by using charging of a recording medium so as to constantly form stable images.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier, charging device, exposure device, developing device, transfer member, feeding unit, and resist roller pair 13. In a recording medium conveyance path between the feeding unit and resist roller pair, a conveyance guide member 30 is arranged, which is formed of a material charging a recording medium to have the same polarity as the charge polarity of the image carrier through the friction with the recording medium. The image forming apparatus can vary the conveyance speed of the recording medium in at least one of the feeding unit and resist roller pair to perform a recording medium charging mode of rubbing a contact surface of the recording medium with the image carrier on the conveyance guide member. |
