1. A liquid crystal display device comprising:
a first substrate including a first common electrode in which a first slit extending in a first direction is formed, a first pixel electrode opposed to the first common electrode, a second pixel electrode opposed to the first common electrode and neighboring the first pixel electrode in a second direction with the first slit being interposed, and a first alignment film covering the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode; a second substrate including a second common electrode opposed to the first slit, the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode and having a potential identical to a potential of the first common electrode, and a second alignment film covering the second common electrode; and a liquid crystal layer held between the first alignment film and the second alignment film.
