<p>The present invention relates to veterinary compositions based on isometamidium and to uses thereof in a long-term curative and/or preventive treatment of trypanosomiasis in non-human mammals. It relates more specifically to a composition comprising at least 95% pure isometamidium, or a salt thereof, relative to the total weight of the composition. The compositions of the invention also comprise pure 3,8-di-(3-m-amidinophenyltriazeno)-5-ethyl-6-phenylphenanthridium and, optionally, less than 8% by weight of 3-(3-m-amidinophenyl-2-triazeno)-8-amino-5-ethyl-6-phenylphenanthridinium and less than 8% by weight of 7-(m-amidinophenyldiazo)-3,8-diamino-5-ethyl-6-phenylphenanthridinium.</p> |
