The present invention relates to a supporting substrate for a semiconductor light emitting device and a method for manufacturing a semiconductor light emitting device having the same. The supporting substrate for a semiconductor light emitting device is characterized by comprising a support layer integrated with multiple semiconductor layers on a side opposite to a growing substrate based on multiple semiconductor layers; a bending control layer formed on an opposite side of the multiple semiconductor layers based on the support layer, and controlling bending of the multiple semiconductor layers having the growing substrate removed; and a separation layer fixing the bending control layer on the support layer, and separating the bending control layer from the support layer by an energy supplied from the outside after the growing substrate is removed from the multiple semiconductor layer.
