The present invention relates to a hydro-pneumatic braking system for a monorail vehicle, comprising: a braking control device to generate an electrical signal when a braking request signal is inputted from a vehicle control monitoring device of a monorail vehicle; a braking operation device to convert the electrical signal outputted from the braking control device into an air signal; an electro-pneumatic conversion device to convert the air signal outputted from the braking operation device into a hydraulic signal; and a hydraulic cylinder to carry out frictional braking using the hydraulic signal converted in and outputted from the electro-pneumatic conversion device. According to the present invention, the hydro-pneumatic braking system for a monorail vehicle is stably applied to a monorail vehicle by braking the monorail vehicle through hydraulic braking and reducing the overall volume of the braking device.
