<p>A HALOGEN-FREE FLAME RETARDANT INSULATED WIRE (1) IS PROVIDED, WHICH CAN REDUCE A LEAKAGE CURRENT AT HIGH FREQUENCIES AND HIGH VOLTAGES, WHICH SATISFIES REQUIRED CHARACTERISTICS RELATED TO THE FLAME RETARDANCY AND THE FLEXIBILITY, AND WHICH IS USEFUL FOR A REDUCTION IN ENVIRONMENTAL LOAD. THE ABOVE-DESCRIBED WIRE IS A HALOGEN-FREE FLAME RETARDANT INSULATED WIRE (1) CHARACTERIZED BY INCLUDING A CONDUCTOR, A FIRST INSULATED LAYER COVERING THE CONDUCTOR, AND A SECOND INSULATED LAYER COVERING THE FIRST INSULATED LAYER, WHEREIN THE ABOVE-DESCRIBED FIRST INSULATED LAYER IS FORMED FROM A FIRST RESIN COMPOSITION WHICH CONTAINS 5 TO 70 PARTS BY MASS OF NITROGEN SERIES FLAME RETARDANT RELATIVE TO 100 PARTS BY MASS OF RESIN COMPONENT CONTAINING 20 TO 50 PARTS BY MASS OF POLYESTER, 20 TO 50 PARTS BY MASS OF POLYPHENYLENE ETHER, AND 30 TO 60 PARTS BY MASS OF COMPONENT HAVING A RATIO OF STYRENE ELASTOMER TO POLYOLEFIN OF 0:100 TO 100:0 AND WHICH HAS A DIELECTRIC CONSTANT OF 3.2 OR LESS, AND THE SECOND INSULATED LAYER IS FORMED FROM A SECOND RESIN COMPOSITION CONTAINING 150 TO 250 PARTS BY MASS OF METAL HYDROXIDE RELATIVE TO 100 PARTS BY MASS OF RESIN COMPONENT.
