PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device which performs fine print control according to objectives such as concentration improvement and abrasion resistance improvement by considering minute difference in kind (minute difference of receiving layers) in mat paper and glossy paper.SOLUTION: An information processing device discriminates a recording medium containing a receiving layer, and includes transmission light information acquiring means which irradiates light to the recording medium where a discrimination image is printed for acquiring information of transmission light, and a surface characteristic determination means which, based on the information of transmission light, determines a surface characteristic of the recording medium where the discrimination image is printed.
