<p>The device (10) has a contact module (12) arranged at a cooking vessel (14). A sensor unit (16) determines a cooking parameter e.g. temperature. A control unit (18) monitors the parameter during a cooling process after deactivating heating units (22) e.g. cooktop mirrors. The control unit activates the heating units based on the parameter. The control unit maintains the parameter in a close range to a target value of the parameter by activating the heating units. A connecting unit (26) wirelessly transfers the parameter from the contact module to the control unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a hob device.</p>
