PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which increase the effect of rolling shutter distortion correction in accordance with a supported state thereof. ! SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus for capturing an image by an exposure system in which individual pixel lines are different by exposure timing includes first correction means which electronically corrects image blur on the basis of a shake signal indicative of a shake of the apparatus and an RS distortion correction control unit 119 which corrects distortion occurring in a captured image due to the difference of exposure timing among individual pixel lines, on the basis of the shake signal. The imaging apparatus determines a supported state thereof on the basis of the shake signal. If the apparatus is determined to be in a fixedly supported state, the imaging apparatus extends a movable range for correction by the RS distortion correction control unit 119. !
