Disclosed are a leak detecting device of a heat exchanger and a leak detecting method thereof. The leak detecting device includes: a first flow rate sensor which is installed on a first pipe where fluid moves from a first heat exchanger to a second heat exchanger, and measures the flow rate of the fluid; a second flow rate sensor which is installed on a second pipe where the fluid moves from the second heat exchanger to the first heat exchanger, and measures the flow rate of the fluid; and a control part which detects damage on at least one of the first and second heat exchangers by using a change in the sum of flow rates or the difference in the flow rates of the fluid measured in the first and second flow rate sensors.
