PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device capable of suppressing occurrence of positive ghosts without providing an additional member such as a pre-exposure device. ! SOLUTION: An image formation device of a tandem method which is equipped with a plurality of image formation parts includes a first image formation part, and a second image formation part provided on a lower stream than the first formation part. At the first image formation part, a patch for detecting ghost is formed and is transferred on an intermediate transfer belt. After the patch for detecting ghost passes the second image formation part, a detection mode is executed which detects concentration of a ghost image formed by the second image formation part.
