The present invention relates to a device for transmitting and receiving a signal and a method for transmitting and receiving a signal. One embodiment of the present invention provides a method for transmitting a signal, comprising the steps of: encoding video source data and outputting video data including a supplemental enhancement information (SEI) message having group of picture (GOP) metadata; and transmitting the video data. According to the embodiment of the present invention, a trick play for an encoded stream can be more efficiently provided.
