This air conditioner comprises: a unit body (5) which is suspended by a plurality of hangers (31) in a ceiling space (4) of a building and houses an indoor heat exchanger (22) and a blower (21); and a plurality of hanger brackets (32) provided on an upper structure (6) that constitutes the upper portion of the unit body (5) and to which the lower end portions of the hangers (31) are coupled. The upper structure (6) includes an upper plate (6a) extending in a horizontal direction. Each of the plurality of hanger brackets (32) comprises: a coupling portion (33) to which a hanger (31) is coupled; a first fixed portion (34) which is laid against the upper structure (6) and fixed in that state by a fastener (47) to the upper structure (6); and a second fixed portion (35) which integrally extends from the first fixed portion (34) and is configured to lie against the upper plate (6a) from above.
