automatically detecting three-dimensional visualizations of inter-vertebral discs beyond a limit defined by a vertebral body; displaying an inter-vertebral disc displacement based on the detected three-dimensional visualizations; and reproducibly measuring the inter-vertebral disc displacement over time, wherein the three-dimensional visualizations are detected based on image statistics within a plurality of image patches.
