The present invention relates to an oil pump rotor having excellent abrasion resistance and durability when compared with a traditional technique, and to a manufacturing method thereof. The oil pump rotor comprises: 1.0-2.0 wt% of Cr; 0.1-0.4 wt% of Mo; 0.6-0.8 wt% of C; and the remainder consisting of Fe and inevitable impurities.
