PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source unit that can suppress a deterioration in optical characteristics of prisms due to the influence of temperature change, and a projector including the light source unit.SOLUTION: A projector 100 has LDs 10a to 10c, prisms 12a to 12c that guide laser beams from the LDs 10a to 10c, and a connection unit 26a and 26b for connecting the prisms 12a and 12c, and includes a prism support member 20 that supports the prisms 12a to 12c, where the bottom surfaces 121a and 123a of the prisms 12a and 12c and the connection units 26a and 26b of the prism support member 20, which are located at positions out of the paths of the laser beams from the LDs 10a to 10c, are welded with each other. |
