This optical member retaining structure (LH) is provided with: an optical member; a chassis (15) having a tabular part (15a) conforming to the panel surface of the optical member; a frame body (23) comprising a pair of first extension parts (25) and a second extension part continuous with the ends of the first extension parts (25) at the same side thereof; a frame (13) having a linking extension part linked to the pair of first extension parts (25) constituting the frame body (23); and restricting structures (32) respectively furnished to the chassis (15) and to the pair of first extension parts (25) constituting the frame body (23), for contoured mating with one another so as to restrict relative displacement that would allow the pair of first extension parts (25) to open. |
