<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expandable polystyrene resin particle that permits the production of a foam-molded product excellent in mechanical strength such as flexural strength, compression strength, impact strength and the like, and heat-insulating properties, and a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The expandable polystyrene resin particle comprises a polystyrene resin particle containing a foaming agent therein, and an expanded particle, obtained by heating and expanding 50 times in terms of bulk expansion ratio the expandable polystyrene resin particle, has a cell structure of an average cell size in the internal part within the range of 35-140μm, a value of the average cell size in the surface layer part/the average cell size in the internal part within the range of 0.80-1.20 and an open cell ratio of at most 10%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
