A fluid working machine is provided with a cylinder 19, a piston 18, a cam 17 rotating with a rotation shaft, a cam chamber 63 for housing the cam 17, and a drive rod 20 having one end engaged with the piston 18 and the other end contacting the cam 17. By setting a working fluid pressure in a working chamber 20 higher than a working fluid pressure in the cam chamber 63, the working fluid is supplied from the working chamber 20 to the cam chamber 63 via a gap formed between the cylinder 19 and the piston 18. |
