PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output a received facsimile document as much as possible even in a blackout. ! SOLUTION: An image communication apparatus which is driven by the commercial power supply or a backup power supply comprises: reception means which receives image data; determination means which, while the reception means receives the image data, determines whether or not the apparatus is driven by the backup power supply; and output means which, when the determination means determines that the apparatus is driven by the backup power supply, automatically outputs the image data being received. !
