<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage medium processing apparatus or the like which can suppress wrong insertion of a storage medium while suppressing degradation in operability of a user who is familiar with operation. <P>SOLUTION: When the user selects printing, a screen for specifying a storage medium the user has is displayed on a monitor (step 101). When there is operation for the monitor by the user and a storage medium is selected, it is determined whether the selected storage medium is a "mini SD card" (step 102).
