<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine in which an assembly man-hour can be reduced when mounting a fuel injection pump to a cylinder block, and a manufacturing method of the engine. <P>SOLUTION: A V-type engine 1 includes: fuel injection pumps 6L, 6R having plungers 61, 61, ... pressure feeding fuel and camshafts 62, 62 reciprocating the plungers 61, 61, ... and drive shafts 7L, 7R transmitting power to the camshafts 62, 62 through shaft couplings 11, 12.
