A heatable gas sensor for gases containing reducing substances, having a gas-sensitive porous metal oxide and electrical elements which are spaced a distance apart from one another and heat the metal oxide and measure a conductivity of the metal oxide, characterized in that at least two electrical elements are each embedded in the sintered metal oxide and at least one of the electrical elements is designed for heating the metal oxide as well as for measuring the conductivity in cooperation with another electrical element, said at least two electrical elements are arranged at said distance from one another by using supporting means and are embedded in gas-sensitive porous metal oxide, and the metal oxide is sintered.
