PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus or an MFP device which can appropriately protect the security for reuse of a printed sheet in a simple constitution. ! SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus determines, when a printed medium is used, whether or not a prescribed mark is put on at least either one of the surfaces of the record medium. When determining that the prescribed mark is put on either one of the surfaces of the record medium, the image forming apparatus causes image forming means to write a mask pattern over the surface. Then, the image forming apparatus inverts the record medium with the mask pattern written thereover, and controls image formation to print an image by the image forming means on the unprinted surface exposed by the inversion. On the other hand, when determining that the prescribed mark is not put on both sides of the record medium, the image forming apparatus discharges the record medium to the outside of the apparatus. !
