PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device capable of automatically and properly prohibiting an idle stop function at running time on a bad road and the like, and capable of preventing deterioration of running performance of a vehicle on the bad road due to improper automatic stop of an engine.SOLUTION: In a 2H mode of a two-wheel drive and a 4H mode of a four-wheel drive, as a driver does not put much emphasis on running performance on a bad road, execution of idle stop control and neutral control are both permitted. In a 4HLc mode in which differential limiting is performed on center differential and rear differential compared to the 4H mode, the driver can be regarded as putting emphasis on the running performance on the bad road, so that the execution of the idle stop control is prohibited and the execution of the neutral control is permitted. Furthermore, in a 4LLc mode in which an auxiliary reduction gear is switched to a low gear side compared to the 4HLc mode, the driver can be regarded as putting more emphasis on the running performance on the bad road, so that both the idle stop control and the neutral control are both prohibited. |
