摘要 The present invention relates to a system for estimating a lane using surrounding vehicle driving trajectory restoration and a method thereof and, more specifically, to a system for estimating a lane, capable of estimating a shape of a lane by restoring a trajectory of surrounding vehicles (left, right, and front). The system for estimating a lane comprises: a vehicle information collecting unit to receive vehicle information and coordinate information of surrounding vehicles; a surrounding vehicle tracking unit to track the surrounding vehicles; a vehicle behavior calculating unit to calculate behavior information of a vehicle by calculating a change in a vehicle location and a change in a corresponding angle, and to generate coordinate history information of the surrounding vehicle by using the behavior information of the vehicle; a driving trajectory restoring unit to restore a driving trajectory of the surrounding vehicle by applying the coordinate history information to the curve fitting technique; and a lane estimating unit to estimate a lane by using the restored driving trajectory.
