PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting type number plate comprising a display plate on which a translucent display part 3 on which characters forming a place name 3a, a classification number 3b, hiragana 3c and a series of designation number 3d are patterned is attached to a light block base plate having a punching hole via the punching hole, and a light source case 1 storing a light emitting diode 14 for light emission of the translucent display part, the display plate being attached by covering a front face opening part of the light source case 1, capable of achieving even light emission of the translucent display part 3 without a light guide plate, and detecting breakage of the light emitting diode 14.SOLUTION: A region in a light source case 1 corresponding to character strings forming at least hiragana 3c and a series of designation number 3d is partitioned into plural character zones 12a-12f by reflection plates 11 disposed on positions corresponding to spaces between characters, and light emitting diodes 14 for light emission of a translucent display part 3 for displaying the hiragana 3c and the series of designation number 3d are disposed for each of the character zones 12a-12f. |
