PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for significantly reducing the cost of a substantial metal catalyst by directly reusing the residue of a catalyst system recovered from a reaction solution without passing through a process of recovery of the metal and resynthesis of the catalyst in a method for producing an ester compound using a metal catalyst.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a reactivated catalyst system which comprises a step of reactivating the recovered catalyst system after producing an ester compound by reacting an organic compound having at least one unsaturated carbon bond in the molecule and a formic acid ester in the presence of a catalyst system comprising a ruthenium compound, a cobalt compound and a halide salt, where the above step comprises treating the recovered catalyst system with an amine oxide compound. |
