PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device and electrical apparatus capable of supplying required power even during standby.SOLUTION: A power supply device comprises: a current resonant circuit for driving a transformer and a resonant circuit connected to the primary side of the transformer by using a switching element for periodically repeating ON and OFF; and a control unit for performing control so as to operate in continuous operation of the switching element continuously repeating ON and OFF or in intermittent operation of the switching element intermittently repeating ON and OFF according to an external signal showing the continuous operation or intermittent operation. The power supply device further comprises: a voltage detection unit for detecting voltage on the secondary side of the transformer; and a changeover unit for performing changeover so that the control unit controls the switching element so as to perform the continuous operation, when the voltage detected by the voltage detection unit is lower than a predetermined first threshold voltage in the case that the control unit controls the switching element so as to perform the intermittent operation according to the external signal showing the intermittent operation. |
