Provided are a work vehicle such that an operator can easily visually recognize an electricity storage state/discharge state of an electricity storage device, and a work vehicle control method. A state display unit displays whether the electricity storage device is in charged state or discharged state. A state determination unit determines the state to be displayed on the state display unit on the basis of a parameter corresponding to electricity supplied to the electricity storage device or electricity released from the electricity storage device. The state determination unit varies a parameter threshold value for determining the state to be displayed on the state display unit as being charged state (discharged state) depending on whether the state displayed on the state display unit just previously is charged state (discharged state). Until a predetermined first time elapses after the state displayed on the state display unit changed to charged state or discharged state, the state determination unit determines the state since the change as being the state to be displayed on the state display unit.
