an optically active compound represented by the following formula (1); and a liquid crystal compound:wherein K1 and K2 each independently represent a benzene ring, a cyclohexane ring, or a cyclohexene ring, and one or more carbon atoms among carbon atoms constituting each ring may be substituted with a nitrogen atom; X1 to X12 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, an alkynyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, an alkenyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, or an alkyloxy group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, and each CH2 group in the alkyl group, the alkynyl group, the alkenyl group and the alkyloxy group may be independently substituted with O, S, OCO, COO, OCOO, CO, or a phenylene group. |
