Described herein is a method of selectively depositing molten bulk metallic glass (BMG). In one embodiment, a continuous stream or discrete droplets of molten BMG is deposited to selected positions. The deposition can be repeated as needed layer by layer. One or more layers of non-BMG can be used as needed. |

A method comprising: producing a molten alloy having a composition configured to form a bulk metallic glass (BMG) on cooling; depositing the molten alloy to selected positions on a platen or a workpiece; and forming a solid layer-by-layer construction comprising the BMG, wherein at least some layers of the solid layer-by-layer construction comprising the BMG are amorphous, further comprising depositing non-BMG onto a BMG layer. |
