Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for processing a palm print image comprising: a step of displaying hand shape guide information; a step of determining whether or not a hand is located on the guide information based on a signal pattern in a predetermined area of the guide information when an image is inputted; and a step of capturing the inputted image according to the determination result.
