[Also in Group XL (c)] In a coil turret (see Group XL (c)) rotor contacts are mounted along the outer edges of radial plates of resin-bonded paper. As shown, a contact 3, suitable for use with stator contacts in the form of bent strips of spring metal riveted at both ends to a plate, consists of a strip of silver 3 folded over the outer edge of the plate 4 and secured by a rivet. A flange may be provided at one end to form a connecting lug. One end of the strip may be passed through a longitudinal slot 18 before riveting. A blade contact is shown at b and comprises a member of metal foil in the form of a rectangle having parallel lugs projecting from opposite corners. The rectangular portion is disposed within a recess in the edge of the plate 4 before the major part is bent to bear against the side of the plate and secured by rivets. The second lug 20 which may be either integral or secured by riveting is bent outwards to form a connecting point. Hollow rivets may be substituted for the connecting lug.</p> |
