PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the classification of an image into a plurality of meaningful areas in a simple and precise manner.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus acquires the number of pixels in each of divided super pixels and acquires information on the adjacent super pixels. When each of a pair of the super pixels has the number of pixels equal to or larger than a threshold, the image processing apparatus determines the coupling with an LBP histogram, and when it is not the case, determines the coupling with color average. The image processing apparatus then extracts feature from each of the super pixels, and when predetermined conditions are satisfied, couples the pair of the super pixels. |
