PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a duct regenerator capable of completing replacement work of all heat storage mediums quickly in a short time.SOLUTION: A duct regenerator includes: a vertical duct 2 including an upper portion to which an upper duct 3 is connected and a lower portion to which a lower duct 4 is connected, storing spherical heat storage mediums 11 up to at least above the lower duct 4, and alternately circulating combustion air A and exhaust gas B between the upper duct 3 and the lower duct 4 via the heat storage mediums 11; a supply hopper 12 provided on the vertical duct 2 for supplying the spherical heat storage mediums 11 into the vertical duct 2; an upper gate 14 provided between the supply hopper 12 and the vertical duct 2 so as to be able to be freely opened/closed, holding the spherical heat storage mediums 11 in the supply hopper 11 if being closed, and dropping the spherical heat storage mediums 11 into the vertical duct 2 from the supply hopper 12 if being opened; and a lower gate 15 provided on a lower end 2b of the vertical duct 2 so as to be able to be freely opened/closed, holding the spherical heat storage mediums 11 in the vertical duct 2 if being closed, and discharging the spherical heat storage mediums 11 from within the vertical duct 12 if being opened. |
