The present invention relates to a composition for anti-inflammation or skin whitening. According to the present invention, tuberostemonine shows an anti-inflammation effect by inhibiting formation of nitric oxide (NO), or a skin whitening effect by decreasing a total amount of melanin, thereby being used as a pharmaceutical composition, a skin external application, a cosmetic composition, or a health food.
