1. A compaction device, comprising:
at least one traveling drum rotatable about a drum shaft, coupled vibration exciters generating an oscillation torque about the drum shaft, said vibration exciters having unbalanced masses rotating out of phase by 180 degrees in a same direction of rotation, and having a drive shaft running to the drum shaft for driving the vibration exciters, wherein the drum is divided into at least two drum parts, wherein the at least two drum parts are substantially adjacent one another, and wherein each drum part comprises at least two coupled vibration exciters mounted in the drum at a distance from the drum shaft, wherein the drive shafts for the vibration exciters of each of the at least two drum parts are mechanically coupled directly to each other via a transmission or, via a control means, are adjustable to be in-phase ensuring that the vibration exciters of all drum parts always oscillate in synchronism also in case of a turning of the drum parts relative to each other. |
