A parking fee management system and a method thereof are provided to use an audio video navigation (AVN) device inside a vehicle, to detect a vehicle′s information required for parking fee collection, and to manage the parking fee. The system of the present invention is comprised of: an AVN device; a parking management device that sends the vehicle information obtained through the AVN device and the vehicle license plate image or vehicle number obtained through an internal camera to a parking management system; and the parking management system that uses the information received from the parking management device, counts the parking time of each vehicle, calculates the parking fee according to the parking time, and, when the calculated parking fee is paid, controls the gate for the vehicle to go out. |
