<p>An anchoring assembly (201) is disclosed for anchoring a bolt such as rock bolt within a borehole, including a cam member (202) mounted to pivot relative to the bolt from a closed position aligned with the bolt to an expanded position offset from the bolt to anchor the bolt within the borehole. The assembly may include a further expansion mechanism actuated by axial movement of the bolt, so that the cam mechanism provides initial tightening of the anchoring assembly and the further mechanism provides further tightening. Also disclosed is an anchoring assembly having an external expansion shell (226) having on or more ramp surfaces (231) which reacts to subsequent tensile loads on the rock bolt by expanding further against the borehole.</p> |
