YEAST-BASED THERAPEUTIC FOR CHRONIC HEPATITIS B INFECTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immunotherapeutic composition for preventing and treating hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection.SOLUTION: An immunotherapeutic composition comprises a yeast vehicle, and a fusion protein comprising HBV antigens consisting of: i) an HBV X antigen having an amino acid sequence that is at least 80% identical to positions 52 to 126 of a full-length HBV X antigen; ii) an HBV surface antigen having an amino acid sequence that is at least 95% identical to an amino acid sequence of a full-length HBV large surface antigen (L); and iii) an HBV core antigen having an amino acid sequence that is at least 95% identical to an amino acid sequence of a full-length HBV core protein. The composition induces HBV-specific immune response.
